For the 2025\u00a0financial year, we have offset a total of 376\u00a0tonnes\u00a0of CO\u2082 emissions through a climate contribution to the\u00a0MoorFutures\u00a0project run by the\u00a0Ausgleichsagentur\u00a0Schleswig-Holstein.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Specifically, this involves a rewetting project in the\u00a0Grotmoor\u00a0in Schleswig-Holstein, where previously drained peatland areas are being restored to their natural state. By permanently raising the water level, peat decomposition is reduced, thereby preventing CO\u2082 emissions and restoring the peatland\u2019s long-term carbon storage function. Furthermore, the project promotes the restoration of habitats typical of peatlands, enhances\u00a0biodiversity\u00a0and improves the water retention capacity of the land.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The project underscores the Jebsen &amp; Jessen Hamburg Group\u2019s commitment to climate protection, as well as to the conservation and promotion of natural habitats and their biodiversity.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since 2017, we have made a voluntary climate contribution every year, which offsets the amount of direct CO\u2082 emissions released into the atmosphere by the Jebsen &amp; Jessen Hamburg Group.
