Irizar electric buses soon in Hamburg

Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg-Holstein GmbH (VHH) is buying eight electrically powered city buses from Irizar e-mobility. This is the company’s first entry into the northern German market and its third major order in Germany after ICB Frankfurt and Rheinbahn Düsseldorf.

The order for the zero-emission buses came about through the mediation of our subsidiary Ferrostaal Equipment Solutions. Irizar e-mobility and its electromobility solutions in Germany thus remain on course for success.

The city buses have a length of 12 meters, three doors and 30 seats as well as a wheelchair area. The buses are charged at night, via the charging plugs located on both sides above the first axle of the vehicle. The batteries and their main components and systems were both developed and produced by the Irizar Group of Companies.

We look forward to seeing the Irizar e-Mobility buses running in our hometown of Hamburg from 2022 onwards, thus contributing to emission-free public transport.
